A 300 year old family company, with over 870 container ships: wow, with the "Big 3" in deep financial trouble, MSC may inherit the market soon.

Yes, the largest worldwide container ship business in a world so hungry of container ship space!... Wow!... Yes, they'll to inherit the cruise market the way they wish. Arguably by natural growth instead of consolidation!... If one of the biggies fails, they'll simply let it fail, and rebuild the market the way they wish... In 10 years they'll be world leader cruise group!...

Regarding the supply chain issues, those are a worldwide concern right now and affects all cruise lines. Better days will come.

Regarding the supply chain issues

Years ago on a Princess cruise around Australia /New Zealand I was excited to have New Zealand lamb on the menu. Felt we were closer to the source. Expressed my excitement to the headwaiter if New Zealand lamb would be featured this cruise. "Yes, of course,  but all our food is containerized and comes from the US."

Very rarely do mega ships local source anything. The smaller 'boutique' cruise ships advertise locally sourced menu specials. So one could imagine that MSC being tied to the largest container shipping company it may well be well stocked with containers full of certain contracted brands from Europe or elsewhere and only 'fill-in' and save the limited stock of other popular brands for the Yacht Club requests. I say this because we never experienced a lack of anything in the YC.
