tjatczak Posted March 30, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2023 It has been a long time since our last Carnival cruise. Is $59 per day the best price we will see for Cheers? Just wondering if there is ever a sale or a promo code in past experiences. Thanks!.
ProgRockCruiser Posted March 30, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 30, 2023 You should assume there are no sales. There was only one in the last 5 or 6 years that I can recall, associated with one of the attempted post-COVID restarts. No Promo codes either. The "sale" is buying before you get onboard.
PekingeseLady Posted March 30, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 30, 2023 Yes. The price you pay before boarding is the cheapest price.
ngrund Posted March 30, 2023 #4 Share Posted March 30, 2023 Yep, the only thing you can do to reduce effective cost is use of discounted gift cards, or a cash back credit card

You can buy discounted gift cards on AARP and use the gift cards to purchase Cheers online, $450 for a $500 gift card.
kelkel2 Posted March 31, 2023 #6 Share Posted March 31, 2023 I think so. Right when cruising started back up there were discounts and free cheers offers. But that seemed more geared to getting people to cruise again. I doubt you’ll see those again.

I think the closest you get to a "deal" on Cheers is when you get an offer through the VIPF... I was surprised it was only ~200 to 'upgrade' to a cheers inclusive rate for a cruise next year.

It was only around $180 more to get Cheers so we thought it was a great deal!

tonit964 Posted April 1, 2023 #11 Share Posted April 1, 2023 Back in January, I had a VIFP offer for Cheers, it was the RU2 code and it was only $280 more than the other rate without cheers so I jumped on it and this was for a 7 day cruise. Keep checking your offers!
pinklucky61 Posted April 1, 2023 #12 Share Posted April 1, 2023 I get a lot of casino deals offering "drinks on us" while playing in casino. Some people get drinks everywhere casino deals which is same as Cheers. I'm a low betting player.

carrieluvsgreg Posted April 4, 2023 #15 Share Posted April 4, 2023 We board the Panorama in 12 days and were offered "free" CHEERs when booking under that rate code. We have a spa balcony cabin and it was $200 more than the cheapest available rate. I knew we'd spend at least $100 at the coffee shop on a 7 day sailing and most likely would have a $100 bar tab. So for us it was a "no brainer". There was a constant reminder that if we changed our reservation in any way (rate jumping) we would lose the CHEERs. I really did not even check the rates after booking because of this. I did check rates a few weeks back just to see how many spa rooms were left and to book our same cruise then without CHEERs was $1000 more than what we paid, so I am very pleased with our choice.

I have searched the AARP site several times to no avail... Right now they have $100 gift cards available, sometimes they are $500 cards. All electronic gift cards... Rare ibarrio Posted April 5, 2023 #19 Share Posted April 5, 2023 Right now they have $100 and $500 available. They don't run out now that they switched to members only. In the past it was nearly impossible to get a $500 one
