Rare mexicobob Posted March 31, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2023 We are on The Riviera for the April 7 sailing from Civitavecchia to Trieste. Seven nights. About a month ago we received an offer to exchange our cruise for a similar one in South America. Today we received an offer to exchange our cruise for a 14 day cruise on The Vista on June 23 (I think). We are in a PH2 and they did not specify whether the cabins would be the same on the new cruise. We have already made plans so will turn it down. Sounds like a good deal, maybe. First time on Oceania, so wondering if they have oversold the ship?? Never had this kind of offer on another cruise line. This seems to be a legit offer as it also is forwarded by our travel agent. Rare LHT28 Posted March 31, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2023 Yes they probably are trying to clear the wait lists They did this for many years then just before covid they were not booking as many cabins for wait lists & GTY If you are flexible in your plan it can be a good deal especially if you use O air to get to the port If you get an offer be sure to check if in same Category or if any cash incentive to move over
2ws Posted March 31, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 31, 2023 Currently on this cruise. Many people did not realize it was a back to back and booked to Trieste. If it is that packed be sure to familiarize yourself with the Ts and Cs. There are a lot of O elites on board. Overall food is as expected and service is very good. Thanks for the info but what are Ts and Cs?
DrHemlock Posted March 31, 2023 #5 Share Posted March 31, 2023 Terms & Conditions on O's website. Scroll down to the very bottom and click on Legal, then Terms & Conditions in the left margin of the new page.
MEFIowa Posted March 31, 2023 #6 Share Posted March 31, 2023 Given that there is essentially zero cost to O to upgrade those in G-F-D-Cs to Bs with verandas, I always wonder if some cruisers get O offering "free" or "reduced" upgrade prices to them for Bs right before the cruise? Easy cheap way to make some loyal customers happy. (And, depending upon timing, they can try to backfill the now empty lower cabin for additional revenue.) The next segment is waitlisted so they are trying to make room for those that may have just booked the April 7th cruise & are on the list They are not going to boot those onboard off or those that have a Cabin assignment I do not understand you comments?? Lots of info that dispels so many misconceptions by passengers. My “favorite” one is “The ship will wait for you.”
