Cruise tour sapphire princess July, 2006

We are doing the land and cruise tour of this ship July 4, 2006. I REALLY DISLIKE ship tours but it seemed like the "cheapest" and easiest way to get there and back to the ship.

"Supposedly", we are due to arrive Anchorage - Denali at 3:35 PM the first day ( via rail)

and return from our "Tundra" excursion the following day at 2 PM

THe third day, prior to leaving for Fairbanks, we don't leave until 3:45 PM.

Question: How difficult is it to book "trips" that are non Princess UP THERE IN DENALI........ and does anyone have an email address to do this .....for various excursions. Princess won't send the "excursions" for this land tour until 75 days before hand, and we would like to firm up our NON PRINCESS reservations with someone prior to this time due to the fact that the park is so busy.

Thanks for any help offered.

Sincerely,

Bette ldtc2@aol.com

http://www.nps.gov/dena has information on Denali park. Consider the sled dog demo at and there is a very nice new visitor center there. white Water rafting is good, several independent venders to consider. What else if of interest? http://www.denalichamber.com/directory/activitiesandtours/index.html

I strongly suggest you add at least a day in Fairbanks with a rental car. You see very little of that city otherwise, why go all that way and miss out?? :) Same with Anchorage, make the most of your time there, request their visitor guide, the downtown area is packed with interesting sites, request their visitor guide, has a nice walking tour map included. http://www.anchorage.net

If you want to see what Princess excusions are available for the land tour before they are sent to you, go to princesslodges.com and click on the lodge/hotel you will be staying in at the different locations. Then scroll down until you see the activities list on the left side of the page and click on the different activities/tours to get a discription and the price, etc. This way you can compare the tours that Princess has available with the ones offered by non princess companies.
