Bridgetown, Barbados

We are considering taking an O cruise that starts in this town. Has anyone had any experience flying into this place? We think using O air is the sfest way to go since if any flight gets delayed the cruise line will be there to assist.

Any suggestions for hotel there for an over night?

Thanks!

Hilton is the hotel used by O I believe. There is lots and lots of accommodation on Barbados, not so much in Bridgetown as it’s not really the touristy places. Worthing is a nice area with good hotels, but the island is small, Expedia is your friend 🙂

I love the beaches in Barbados. The Hilton is a taxi drive to Harbor Lights, a great beach with loungers and food, and outdoor showers. We loved our day there and considered spending more days at the Hilton the next time 🙂

Other than assist with rebooking your tix, what “assistance” do you think O would provide? Read the O T&Cs. They clearly limit O’s role in “making things right” when it comes to transportation they do not directly provide (I.e., O’s responsibility only involves their ships).

And, that said, remember that if there is an air FUBAR, DIYers can deal directly with the airline while you’ll have to do it through your “TA” (in this case of air travel, that would be Oceania).

Did you fly into Bridgetown?

We live in NY and have flown into/out of Bridgetown on JetBlue. Took cab to ship. No problems whatsoever. As has been said, many hotels for pre-cruise stay.
