cpcanuck Posted April 21, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2023 If you receive an initial email with minimum bids on cabins, and the minimum bid is still really high - has anyone received further emails with lower minimum bid options? Just curious. Thanks!
cdngrl Posted April 21, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2023 Yes, my first email I thought was high. The second was only $5 less. I’ve gotten two or three more emails this month and they haven’t changed from the $5 ‘discount’.

Rare Coral Posted April 22, 2023 #4 Share Posted April 22, 2023 The prices for my cruise are the same as if I just upgraded to the suites. If I really wanted a suite - I would just pay for it.

Not really sure what the point of this exercise of bidding actually achieves, other than a “perceived” deal that leads to spending more. I guess that’s the point!
Rare iamaqt2 Posted April 22, 2023 #6 Share Posted April 22, 2023 I went from an inside cabin to a premium deluxe aft balcony on an 8 day Alaskan cruise for only 245 pp. That was a significant savings over booking the aft myself. It really depends on what categories you're moving between whether the cost difference is worth it.

I guess it just varies from cruise to cruise.
Torfamm Posted April 22, 2023 #8 Share Posted April 22, 2023 I have not gotten more emails but I have logged into the bidding site at a later date and seen starting bids lower than they showed in the original email
