podgeandrodge Posted April 30, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2023 Free at Sea conditions state "Singles paying 200% of voyage fare qualify" - but Free at Sea option there purchasing as a solo traveller. Can anyone confirm that there is no issue here if the solo cabin price is not 200% (only about 120%)? Thanks.
coolrider71 Posted April 30, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2023 I just booked a solo cruise with no extra supplement. Still got all the Free at Sea stuff. 1
MeHeartCruising Posted April 30, 2023 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2023 (edited) I'm a solo cruiser and have always been offered a Free at Sea option when booking a cabin. No matter what the supplement. You see the offers when you do the booking process online. Edited April 30, 2023 by MeHeartCruising
mistertomatoe Posted May 2, 2023 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2023 Five cruises solo since December 2022 without ever paying double, no issues with Free At Sea. NCL terms and conditions aren’t always accurate.
hallux Posted May 2, 2023 #5 Share Posted May 2, 2023 I'm not sure how it is now, but when I took the free/reduced airfare option in 2019 I had to pay the full solo supplement on my balcony room. That may come into play if you want the 50% off airfare (BOGO airfare compensation for only one passenger). For what it's worth - the reduced airfare with full solo supplement came out less than $100 more expensive than a studio cabin and buying my own airfare (free/reduced airfare wasn't available on that cabin type at the time). mistertomatoe Posted May 2, 2023 #6 Share Posted May 2, 2023 I haven’t taken the option for F@S Air all the way through but during the process it does take 50% off even for less than 200% solo supplement. However, I find I can get better flights with better times myself paying slightly more than 50% off. It’s worth it because I can reprice the cruise later when they do something like drop the supplement completely close to sailing. Close to sailing Air drops off completely so you can’t argue it’s the same cruise to reprice.
