No points from onboard shopping

Hi everyone,

on my last trip with MSC Opera we made a purchase at one of the stores. The store manager told us that we had to use their own card terminal and not our cruise card, in the end they did a double transaction (one on my regular card and one to my cruise card) after a few days and alot of hassle they crossed out the transaction on my cruise card. Now it seems like there were no points added to my account. Does anyone know if this is common practice? Are some purchases on the ship excluded from generating points? It was a purchase in the jewelry store.

Thank you,

Balkongen

I've purchased from the jewellery store and only ever paid using the cruise card, which has generated points. If the transaction didn't go on your cruise card it is unlikely to generate points.

You could email the Voyagers Club admin to see if they could address the points absence.
