It's Here ~ Elation 5/23 Review ~ With Pics

OK....this cruise started out as a local buddy of mine (Stallion on CC) was taking his 10 year old son with him on a cruise and I found out about this when I got back from my March Cruise…..He and I have been trying to cruise together for a few years and it just worked out that I could go…….Got a cheap 1-A cabin and got upgraded to 4-A……..I just wanted on the ship and sooooooooooo glad I did……This cruise has to rank right up there with the top few!….Richard (we’ll use his regular name as he didn’t live up to his CC name Stallion) challenged me to a Caribbean Babe Acquisition Contest where he failed miserably but then I sent a few chicks his way…..I swear some of the crew say it was 3 to 1 women to men on this cruise but I’d say at least 2 to 1….but STILL…..us single guys were all over that and many of them WERE single……We have nicknames for most of our team players we met and you’ll see that in some of the pics as well as the lively post of Stallion's….What a great week!

 

Prestay: Stayed at Tremont House and got to park at Hotel Galvez free (with that package) and was shuttled to the port free….The night before, we tried a few bars on the Strand but ended up at Club 21.…..that was THE best bar I’ve been to in a long time…..loved it!

 

Embarkation: Was so great……We walked right on at 11:30 and sat in a group to board for 30 minutes or so and was one of the first 25 to 50 to board other than a huge wedding party.

 

Fun days at Sea: Loved them all…….I think I could stay 7 days at sea.

 

Progresso: This was my 3rd time to be there in the last 2 years and it gets better ever time…..Great job Progresso!……They have a handle on how to keep the ships there and everyone happy.

 

Cozumel: My fav western port…..Tried out a new beach club that is 7 months old and loved it Paradise Beach….I told them to expect more of us CCers there in the future…..It’s still free now and Tom (owner) said he’ll keep it that way as long as possible….He’s a great guy too!…..Thanks for all your hard work Tom………plus……Great music DJ (Roberto) that plays a great variety…….I had too much sun in Progresso and decided to sit in the shade of the Paradise Beach Bar til heading to Carlos and Charlies….Audrey and Javier (sp?) were my bartenders at PB……very fun!…..I told them our groups will come there and surround the bar!…Left in time to go to CnC and be there about 1pm or 130 to meet the other Carnival ships people I met on the Roll call board….Only saw a few Lisa (WaveRyder) and her friend Alice……May have met others but I tend to get a little tipsy there and not sure…….lol……Met and partied with several from out ship as well as others……Left about 3 or 3:30 and went to Fat Tuesdays by the pier where we KEPT partying til nearly time to board the ship…….Had a blast in Coz but always DO!

 

Belize: Ok, I got off the ship this time….I cave tubed with Reggie a few years ago and was there again in Sept and stayed on the ship…..I ventured off this time even though I hate that tender process and then the 5 minute walk to the water taxi and then another 40 minute boat ride to Caye Caulker but it was worth it…..What a cool laid back island….Loved it…Found a cool bar at the end of the road, Lazy Lizard, and that’s where the Partae Pirates are going…Bernard and Sheri the bartenders will be expecting us…..I say take a walkman or something to hear tunes to pass the boat ride better…….I was kicking myself for not doing that….Left it on the ship.

 

Ship: It was absolutely surprisingly in great shape...I was expecting less from a few reports but it looked great....Very well taken care of….I actually like the bigger ships better but after being on there a week, I love the fantasy class about the same now.

 

State Room: I had R230 (4-A) …..actually got a 1-A just to book and got upgraded….I’ve only have had one other inside and forgot how dark it is in there and slept longer some mornings.

 

Room Steward: Fetrie - He was awesome….

 

Entertainment and Cruise Staff: Great Staff and all friendly and approachable even when I talked with Larry (CD) and the Dancers at Fat Tues in Coz.

 

Food: The food was just great….I seemed to get great food on Carnival most of the time so it was sorta expected……Great Waiter - Emilio!

 

Crew/Staff: Yes they were friendly and fun and showed up in huge crowds at nights in the disco. That’s were I met Larry the first time

(CD) and I have to say he’s just a down to earth great guy as well as a great CD….He does something a little different where it‘s not so canned….Amy, (the Teen Host) was too fun!…..I met her at the Muster Drill and she remembered my name the next time I saw her…..I danced with her several times in the disco and the deck party…..Very fun gal!...Crazy fun!..Lena was another great waitress, at the Drama Bar, that dates the Chief Pursor.

 

Kids : Not all that many and they were pretty good.

 

Pool Band: Ok but not the best……They actually got better as the week went on…….Never a problem with getting chairs almost anytime.

 

Disco: Great DJ that played all the latest hip hop dance as well as mixed some 70, 80, and 90s in……a little R&B and some old school…..The place was packed and we totally enjoyed….Great waiter at the bar (Jose) had my folio number memorized the first night…a few times he had a drink waiting on me as I walked in……lol…..you GOT to love THAT! …The first night is usually slow on most ships but it was packed this first night…..We had some people on there ready to PARTAE!…The first night, Fri night and the last night were THE best even though all but the Coz night were very fun…The first night we were all doing shots and I don‘t remember everything til I played it back the next day….Slept in til like 11:30.….very unusual for me….A few times they kept it open til 4am…..The night we were all in Coz it was dead as all of us were….lol

 

Deck Party: I usually don’t go to those but decided since the disco was closed that it would be the place and my bartender Jose was out there….Man what a great party…..I think they should close the disco down on deck party night on all ships and it will bring us all together outside……that was the first one that I stayed til it was over….Too fun!……The DJ was spinning the same hits as in the Disco and the stage is so huge as well as everyone dancing on the deck that we had a BLAST!

 

Piano Bar: Pretty good…….the guy did a great job but it never was totally packed out like I’ve seen others…….Maybe it was just a different crowd that mostly like the Disco.

 

Karaoke Bar: Loved it …but the last night was the best!

 

Talent Show: Pretty good………all girls

 

Bottom line we had a great time and met some new CC friends as well as new ship board friends that will probably become CCers as I always tell everyone about it….I think this will do for now and I can add more or answer questions….Check out the pics below and feel free to ask anything....Also pay no attention to Stallion if he posts here.....he's a bitter man over losing to me.....lol

yeah I get 3 WHOLE pictures in 7 days-that's it-you're fired!-I'm getting a new wing-man-these pictures have obviously been sorted and heavily doctored. OK he found a few girls at Carlos and Charlie's and on the Naughty Beach Romp to take pictures with him when I shielded my son from the drunken debauchery. Not a terribly difficult thing to do. But seriously Young Babes love to take pictures with Host Randy-he reminds them of their Daddy plus he bribes them with free alcohol-Exhibit 1-see the pictures with the Girl better known as "Buy Me a Drink".

Yep Zone she was a cutie....She was one of them doing shots with me the first night....I wish I had my camera with me more....I swear my pics are only one night, and 3 ports........We had sooooo many more photo opportunities....like the days out on the lido deck where we had babes all around......I thought we were in a MS America Swimsuit competition and then said.......no...these girls have GOT to be Girls Gone Wild!......I kick myself for not having my camera out at the pool one single day...I'd say it was 3 girls to one guy out by the pool sometimes til 6pm....Even Stallion had a few hanging around.....Stallion and I are around a lot of people here in Dallas that know we like to have fun and we try to take that to sea with us and I guess the girls picked up on that.......Hey it's our job to entertain!...There, I'll take the high road cause Stallion does NOT want me to go to the 4am lido deck incident...As a matter of fact, just forget I brought it up....Jury forget you heard that!

OK I'll give some dirt on both of us-guess which witty and charming Cruise Critic poster was Host Randy's Dining Room LONE tablemate (at least on 4 Nites) in a small, secluded table in the very corner of the Dining Room obscured only from two tables filled with teenagers. Hey I'm sure it would have been terribly romantic had I been seated with a more APPROPRIATE tablemate. Yet our "TALENTS" were wasted during dinner with all those gorgeous girls on the Cruise - Mr.Big Shot Host Randy couldn't wrangle a table in sight of a single availiable Babe above the"Age of Consent." But Stallion and his trusty Wingman still turned lemons into lemonade.
