AK cruise in August -Summer or Winter?

Our first AK cruise. We imagine it’ll be chilly outside but not inside the ship. Do we pack summer or winter clothes?

Welcome to Cruise Critic.   But you are on the wrong board.  This one is for those having technical difficulties using the forums.  The better place for this would be the Alaska board, under Ports Of Call.  That said, you pack layers, especially something for rain.  EM

To help you out, your thread has been moved to the Ports of Call - Alaska forum where it will be on topic. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have been to Alaska frequent this forum and provide feedback here. Browse through the thread titles on this forum looking for threads of interest. You will probably find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that will be of interest to you.

 

Please feel free to browse the Cruise Critic Community categories list for the various message board forums. Read a few threads in the different forums to get a feel for what each forum is about. Make sure you read any pinned threads (aka Stickies) on the top of the first page of threads in most forums. You will find very important instructions or information there.

It will definitely not be THAT chilly, I would check the weather the week before you go and pack accordingly.  Layers are key in Alaska, as you could be cold one minute and you could be sweating to death the next (the ENTIRE cruise for me last May, sweating to death haha).  Rain is a strong possibility, so be prepared.
