Walking to Southampton port

Recommended Posts

Departing May 31st on the SS Dawn which shows at birth 101 city cruise terminal.  We are at the Leonardo Royal and maps shows a 7 min walk.  If the weather is nice, we probably will walk, however is the Gate 8 open for passengers or do you have to go to another gate?

Last year my taxi kicked me out because the traffic was so bad. The walk has lots of uneven pavement and dragging our bags was difficult. We made it but it wasn't a great start to our trip.

We took a taxi from Holiday Inn.  It was a beautiful day but, to save 10 pound, it's a long walk and, to us, not worth the effort.  We saw a lady dragging a wheeled suitcase and a carry on trying to get a luggage cart part way without success since the carts were for use by the patrons of the car park.
