Not even nine am yet, and it's already hot out here... I'm trying to figure when Joe's Conch Shack opens so I can plan my day today. They don't seem to have a website or anything. I remember last time when I got there they weren't even open yet, and I had to wait.

Just checked on google, has 10am as opening time. Enjoy

When we went a few months ago we had found a 10am open on Google but they showed up about 10:30.  So delicious!

I had considered renting one of those golf carts here so I could explore more of the island, but I've read nightmare stories about being broken down in the side of the road. Running out of gas. And, even being charged for pre existing damage... I've got enough problems without all that. I think I'll just walk...

Island time! So good though. worth waiting for. And the Kalik is cold.

Lol exactly!

@sid_9169 on your walk there I recommend a pit stop at Stuarts to grab a bottle of their knockout rum punch. It's basically a boozy smoothie and is refreshing and delicious in the heat. I love that stuff, but they were closed last time we went.

I really only have two main goals here today. Walk down to Joe's Conch Shack for some conch salad, fritters, and maybe lobster if they have it. Next, go over to the beach club and have a swim in the ocean. I'm sure that by the time I get there all the prime seating will be gone, but I really just need someone to watch my bag while I go in the water.

They will have lobster at Ebby and Pat’s. As you are going to Joe’s, it’s on the left. It’s closer to the resort world area. You can see my bathroom shark. 😁

I'm back on the ship now from part one of my day here in Bimini, and it was half successful I suppose... I left here and walked down the long pier towards the land, then took a left, going the opposite direction of the beach club. No sidewalks here, so it's a little treacherous at times. You have to remember that they drive on the wrong side of the road here and keep a lookout. I tried to walk in the shade when it was available, but there wasn't much. I brought my cap to keep my head from getting sunburned.PXL_20230525_141648914.thumb.jpg.1a80fd4fbbbd70bdceb87c05cbe38a63.jpg

It's a pretty long walk to where I was heading, but I'm used to walking in the heat back in Atlanta. I passed a little school then a cemetery... Took a walk through there to the ocean side.PXL_20230525_142003037.thumb.jpg.14006f3d1b901dae6d132d546e943abf.jpg

Soon I came to Ebbie and Pat's, but they turned out not to be open yet. I took a few pictures and said I'd come back later... This turned out to be not such a great idea, but we'll get to that...

Looked like you were in the way of them driving down the ramp to get to the little building...possibly a bathroom.

Finally, I could see Joe's Conch Shack up in the distance. A tour tram had just passed me, and I was praying they wouldn't stop there. Spoiler alert: they did...

Fortunately, they followed the tour guide around back to watch Joe clean the conch... I placed my order for a conch salad and some fritters, plus two bottles of water, since they don't have portable water here on the ship.PXL_20230525_144603731.thumb.jpg.14f467b30d73e26ffa9a57bbb30546a6.jpg
