Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted June 5, 2023 #151 Share Posted June 5, 2023 Have to agree with you regarding the 4 night crowd that boarded Saturday. It was a drunk fest for many. I saw one lady who was so intoxicated that she lost her way to her cabin at the muster announcement. She was opening random doors (crew areas) looking either for a bathroom or her stateroom. Finally a family member corralled her to wherever she was supposed to be.

Well the upside is that the YC does not seem to have the aforementioned types of behavior. My perspective while walking around the ship this morning is that things have calmed quite a bit and from my view, at least, resemble more of what @APDMOM has reported on during the first leg of the cruise. Please forgive me as I do not mean to hijack your tremendous review, OP. I have much gratitude in my heart for your views. They have helped tremendously!

I love hearing from you and always appreciate your input and perspective. Someday we will splurge on yacht club. 🙂 Things have thankfully calmed down so far today. The ship is distinctly more crowded but we continue to find good and quiet spots.

Rare APDMOM Posted June 6, 2023 Author #157 Share Posted June 6, 2023 Documents ready, off we go... and our second leg is ready to start. It is like day one, only better because we have already unpacked! Rare APDMOM Posted June 6, 2023 Author #158 Share Posted June 6, 2023 Embarkation Lunch in Biscayne: TIP: If you want to avoid the day one craziness of the Marketplace buffet on deck 8, head up to deck 16 for Biscayne. We chose this option and had a very quiet and calm lunch. Options were a bit more limited than the Marketplace, but there was plenty of really good food. It included Nachos, Chicken, Cheese, Muffaletta sandwiches, and other pre-made sandwich options. Pizza was available, and of course the soft serve ice cream, which you can ONLY find here for free.
Rare APDMOM Posted June 6, 2023 Author #159 Share Posted June 6, 2023 After Lunch Balcony Views: Another good thing about back to back is the ability to return to your cabin at any time. We enjoyed seeing some wildlife from the balcony, including 2 manatee sightings, dophins at play, seagulls, and pelicans: DSCN1918.mov Pelicans being chased by Marella Discovery:
Rare APDMOM Posted June 6, 2023 Author #160 Share Posted June 6, 2023 Muster Drill: We were told by guest relations that we would need to do the muster drill again, since their system is not set up to handle back to back. We watched the video, dialed the number, then went to scan our cards. After 2 of us scanned, they stated, "Oh, you are back to back. You don't need to scan your cards." Oh well, rather safe than receiving a call to the 'naughty room' again. 🤣 Dinner - Day 8 (or 1 of 4) - Port Canaveral: I decided to venture out and order something new and different. I did this for you 😉 I ended up loving the Spanish Delight, but not the fish. However, DH said the fish was his favorite meal of the 8 days so far. It was a very 'fishy fish'. If you know what I mean... I am more of a light fish person.

Rare APDMOM Posted June 6, 2023 Author #166 Share Posted June 6, 2023 Thermal Area: Since we had a late arrival time at Nassau, we decided to use the thermal area early in the morning - as soon as it opened at 9 AM. It was the busiest I had seen the thermal area during our first 9 days on the cruise. 7 people sandwiched into the steam room 😳
Rare APDMOM Posted June 6, 2023 Author #167 Share Posted June 6, 2023 Arrival in Nassau: We shared the port with Carnival Elation, Carnival Mardi Gras, and Oasis of the Seas (arrived later): Atlantis and Paradise Island - It will be interesting to see how this area changes if the Royal Caribbean plans go through:
Rare APDMOM Posted June 6, 2023 Author #168 Share Posted June 6, 2023 The New Port Area: The new area looks beautiful and clean. Local goods are sold but quite expensive. Ice cream was $8, while you can get it on the ship for $ 4 or $6, depending on what you prefer. Junkanoo Museum:

Rare APDMOM Posted June 7, 2023 Author #171 Share Posted June 7, 2023 Dinner Menu: Day 9 (2 of 4) - Nassau: We did not eat in the MDR, but here is the menu for anyone who may be interested: TIP: It is notable that the menu is quite different from the 7-day sailing. I thought they would repeat some days, but one are exactly the same as last week. Also, the dinner menu is often not uploaded into the app until around noon. The physical menus in the MDR are single-page printed paper, so it seems like there may not be 'set menus', except for the daily classics.
Rare APDMOM Posted June 7, 2023 Author #172 Share Posted June 7, 2023 White Party: I did spend a little time at the White Party to see how it compared with the one on Seascape. Fewer people attended this one, but everyone seemed to have fun. There was a wide range of ages attending. 1 of the first 3 songs was familiar to me, so I left after the third song. They were all Spanish. Many in the crowd did seem to know the songs, so I am probably just too 'old' for this kind of party. 😄 IMG_6812.MOV
