Anthem of the Seas Fjords

Recommended Posts

Hi. I'm Hoping someone can help.

My wife and I are on the Anthem of the Seas to the Fjords on 7th July. We want to go to Magic Ice, but I have to use a powerchair, and we are not sure how to get from the ship to Magic Ice. Is it far to walk? Is there a shuttle from the ship?

I know there is a "Little Red Ferry" that goes from one side of the harbour to the other, but looking at photos of it I don't think it will take wheelchairs.

My powerchair is foldable, and I can walk short distances.

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

James

I'm guessing you're referring to Bergen?

Bergen has several cruise piers in different parts of the city. According to the harbor site, Anthem of the Seas is scheduled to berth at Jekteviksterminalen, southeast of the central waterfront area. No reason to take the ferry, because you'll already be on that side of the harbor. From that pier, the Magic Ice Bar is around 20 minutes walk. I don't know if RCCL will offer a shuttle to the city center, but if they did, it would probably drop you somewhere like Festplassen, which is still 15+ minutes walk to the ice bar.

Thanks kaisatsu, thats a great help. I did read somewhere that Royal Caribbean supplies a shuttle, but I've searched and can't find where it goes to.

you'll have a wonderful time. the ship was in fabulous shape when we were on her a few weeks ago - brilliant service, fab food, well maintained etc. We only got off for 15 minutes at each port of call (!), but really enjoyed the scenic cruising.

Thanks for your help. I'm sure we will have a great time. Just another question? We were on the Anthem last year and there was a Beatles tribute band performing. Would you know if they are still playing on the ship? We would love to see them again.

I'm sorry, we've got a 6 yo so skipped much of the evening entertainment. I don't recall hearing anything Beatles-like when walking around though. There was a brilliant reggae band, latin-fusion band and wonderful live music for the shows (We Will Rock You was excellent).

Yes, we remember the We Will Rock You show. It was amazing. I actually spoke to one of the musician on the show to ask if the music was recorded. He told me the whole show is live, there was no pre-recorded music at all. We are lokking forward to seeing it again.
