Cruisegoer Posted March 30, 2006 #85 Share Posted March 30, 2006 I see these pictures and how far it seems they have to go (how much seems to be left to be done) and look at the calendar seeing what 3 days left and I really feel there is no way they will have her finished in time. Putting the Lifeboats back onto the ship will take at least half a day I believe.

marcyjane Posted March 30, 2006 #87 Share Posted March 30, 2006 I remember watching a show on the travel channel sometime ago about a ship in dry dock being re-done and it was amazing what they got done with 48 hours left. Let's keep our fingers crossed. Marcy

Putting the Lifeboats back onto the ship will take at least half a day I believe. You would be surprised what they can finish in a short amount of time, as long as they get out on friday they should be in LA by Sunday. The fact that they are taking the containers off is a good sign that they are wrapping it up. As for the life boats you have to realize that there are a thousand or so crew members and and other contractors that work nearly around the clock to finish these ships so once she is back in the water they will get them back on very quickly. Vette Most of the ships leave the drydock about 1.5 days before they sail from LA, I have never seen one be late yet

I agree that they will work very hard and fast to get her in the water in time for the 4/2 sailing. I believe that is why they call it a DRYdock. :D
