Sicily port?

I had a Sicily port about 5-6 yrs ago.  I can not remember what was in the port area as I was on a Princess excursion.  I will be stopping again in Nov.  There are no Princess excursions I am interested in doing.

Is there anything around the port area to walk and see?

Which port in Sicily?  It's the largest island in the Mediterranean and there are several ports, including Messina, Catania, Siracusa, Palermo and more.

It says Messina

From Messina I would guess that most people go to Taormina and/or Mt. Etna.

If you want to stay in town, the regional art museum (with a couple of good Caravaggio paintings) is an easy taxi or tram ride from the cruise port, or a longish (3 km/1.8 miles) walk.

The Duomo is quite close to the cruise port (about a third of a mile on foot), it's known in part for having the world's largest astronomical clock.
