kj_connections Posted July 6, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2023 Is it mandatory to go through the visitor centre to do the hikes around the park? Is the visitor centre a must-see or can I skip it?
J&L~SetSail Posted July 6, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2023 Definitely not mandatory. If you visit on your own, you are supposed to pay a park fee, but it's not enforced. Bus tours have the fee built in. As far as a must-see, I'm on the fence because we were short on time and couldn't watch the film. If the film is worthwhile then maybe. Hopefully others can comment about that.
SightCRR Posted July 6, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2023 We enjoyed the use of their spotting scope to view mt goats on side hill plus nice restrooms.

Rather, it is an area within a national forest (managed by USDA).
