Kennedy space centre

Yes we did this excursion at the end of the repositioning cruise from Barbados in April. We had looked at doing a visit independently but the problem was getting transport there and back. The journey took around 20/30 minutes from the ship and we felt that the price of the ship's excursion was reasonable value and took away the worry of an uber not turning up to take you back to the ship.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the space port" as a separate place. KSC itself is huge with transport  on the complex. We were there around 5 hours and didn't see everything. Our last visit there was back in 2003 and it had certainly grown! It's a very popular trip so I'd book before your cruise, as we did.

We will be on board for 2 weeks as from 3rd Sept, having changed our plans from the 10th September due to not docking in Manhattan.

Marella basically provide the transport to and from KSC and your entrance ticket.  I think they have a KSC employee on all the coaches to warm you up and give you hints how to enjoy your day.  The time there is your own.
