What's this about no glacier shuttle to Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau?

I read some postings on Facebook about there not being a glacier shuttle to Mendenhall Glacier.  Does this apply only to a particular transportation company?  Looking for clarification.  Thanks

The way I read it was that (unlike past seasons) the shuttle companies used up all their permits in the first couple of months, and now can not transport people to Mendenhall. I wonder if each round trip shuttle ride was considered as 1 permit, and the park' ecosystem was just getting overwhelmed?

While I understand it, it's such a shame for both visitors and the shuttle companies.  I was fortunate enough to have cruised in early May, and was able to just walk up and buy a shuttle ticket.

When the shuttle companies were told that their permits were all used up, the companies did notify customers who had pre-booked, and they posted a letter on their website.
