WexIrl Posted July 26, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2023 (edited) Good evening, one of my kids comment earlier sparked this thread in a roundabout way.. it was in response to a question I asked on where do you wish to go on holiday next? They reply was; "On a cruise but on a different ship because they seem to be all the same". Fair point I thought from a teenager perspective. Which then got me thinking as I have only cruised NCL. I would indeed like to experience a different ship "layout" just for something different, but I don't want to sacrifice the craic for it 🤣 (Hands up who doesn't understand that comment?). Kids do the entourage and arcade all all the kids activities etc.. Background from the wife & I perspective: Cruised with NCL 3 times: Epic, Escape & Getaway. Apart from the commonality: Epic Liked Venues: Spice H20, Bliss lounge, Casino. O Sheehan's Liked Entertainment: Dueling piano's, Bliss Dj Liked Food: All we sampled Escape Liked Venues: District Brew House, O Sheehan's & Waterfront. Liked Entertainment: Dueling piano's , and Eddie in District Brewhouse Liked food: Food Republic & Buffet Getaway Liked Venues: Sunrise bar &, Waterfront. Liked food: Buffet Cruise route/itinerary is outside the scope of this ask, thank you. Any suggestion on another NCL ship based on the above from your experience? ** Older ships are out & I am looking for mainly large ships above +100,000 GRT Edited July 26, 2023 by WexIrl Ship Names
GORDONCHICK Posted July 26, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2023 All the newer ships are kind of built with the same or very similar footprint. You might want to check out one of the newer RCCL ships, though I'm not really familiar with their teen program. But cool ships with a lot of different stuff. zqvol Posted July 27, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 27, 2023 Hard to find an NCL ship that meets OPs requirements
Portia! Posted July 27, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 27, 2023 Prima is the most different larger ship. Observation lounge, Indulge Food Hall, quite different approach to Waterfront. More eclectic layout. Lots of stuff for kids.
Cruising Lynne Posted July 27, 2023 #5 Share Posted July 27, 2023 I agree that Prima would be a good choice. The teens would enjoy the go carts, Galaxy Pavilion games, and the upper deck outside area that has mini-golf, pickle ball, ping pong etc. Adults may enjoy all that was mentioned above by Portia!. We really enjoyed lounging near the infinity pools on the waterfront. The Indulge Food Hall has something for everyone. The Local has the same food that you like at O'Sheehan's.
Cruising Lynne Posted July 27, 2023 #6 Share Posted July 27, 2023 I also think that you may enjoy the parties that they have when they convert the theater into a night club. We really liked the theater on Prima. It had incredible lighting for the shows and parties.
