eppler Posted August 6, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2023 Easy to google and get a long list of places to get a lobster during the day we are there. If there are any local folks or frequent visitors on the board I would love to know where you go for lobster. Wife and I prefer the non-tourist, sometimes hole in the wall, places that the locals go to.

chengkp75 Posted August 7, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2023 Ancient Mariner Lobster Pound in Westbrook, and then boil my own, way, way cheaper. (just had an 8 lobster boil (lobster, shrimp, potatoes, corn on cob) this last weekend. Under $100 to feed 7) Seriously, if I was to go out for a lobster, I'd go to Becky's, Gilbert's, High Roller, or Portland Lobster. 2
PlanoTim Posted August 8, 2023 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2023 I'm not a local, but my wife is from the Sebago Lake area, so we get up there a lot visiting family. I second the suggeation of Gilberts Chowder House or Becky's Diner. They are both solid choices. Gilberts has more hole-in-the-wall vibe. I hear Portland Lobster Company is good but I've never been there. If a lobster roll is what I was wanting, my choice would be the food truck at Allagash Brewing. It's about a 15-minute Uber ride from the pier. And since you're not driving, you can check out the other 4 (I think) breweries right there. 🍺 I enjoyed the food at Gilberts (outstanding seafood chowder) and at the food truck just a couple weeks ago. Portland is a great town. I hope you have a wicked-good time. 🦞 Tim
