Thanks for posting the videos.  Do you happen to know how much the drinks were at the waterfront?

Always check the posted prices, before you sit and order.  If there are no posted prices, simply ask for a drink menu.  You always have the right to simply walk away (there are plenty of bars/cafes in the harbor area.  Drink prices can really vary depending on what you order with local/regional beer usually being the best deal (if you want alcohol).   You can also get lucky and sometimes find a place that has "happy hour" prices (such as 2 for 1).

I should mention that while most bars/cafes/restaurants are fine, there are a few on Mykonos that make more money by ripping-off tourists.  That is why you want to look at menus before you sit.  The most notorious rip-off bar/restaurant is located on Platys Gialos (DK Oyster Bar) and one would hope that no other bar/restaurant follows their example of charging hundreds of Euros for a few drinks/snacks.  But one can never be too careful, so always look before you sit and make sure to read any fine print that might be found on the menus.

Hank

P.S.  The scam at DK Oyster Bar is so flagrant and well-known that it reflects on the island's government who has, so far, refused to do anything to protect tourists.  Since the authorities seem to have no interest in protecting tourists (from scams) folks must be extra careful and always conduct their own due diligence.

When I was there last Sept (NCL), we were scheduled to tender but we docked instead, at the New Port.  As soon as we exited the port terminal there was a free shuttle bus.  It dropped us off at the Old Port, by a beach. From there it was a short walk along a waterfront path to Mykonos town, 5-10 minutes.

On the way back we thought the SeaBus would be a more scenic route. For 2E, why not?  It dropped us quite close to the New Port.

I'd look for the free shuttle first. If it's not offered, take the Seabus for 2E. Certainly don't pay $10 for a shuttle!

Thanks for your post, appreciate the info. But just to clarify, to avoid confusion.

From the ship it's either we tender to New Port, or The ship Docks at the New Port instead? Just wanted to clarify, thanks again. Best Regards.

And... here is a short video walkthough of Mykonos old town - charming isn't it ? We were there both in the afternoon / evening and early in the morning and what a difference !

Awesome video, truly beautiful?

How long would you say it takes to get around in Mykonos town? Starting from the old port, to Little Venice and The Windmills? Just to clarify, how long does it take walking to get around to all those places, and how long does it take walking back to old port? Thanks in advance. Best Regards.

From the point of the old port where boats stop it is about 1.2km to the windmills walking via little venice. The charm of old town mykonos is to explore the alleys and the small shops , i would estimate 1 - 2 hours of walking around only the old town, to explore further there is a bus station to catch buses to paradise beach etc. hope that helps
