Wendy The Wanderer Posted September 2, 2023 #26 Share Posted September 2, 2023 Although recovered somewhat from the post-pandemic chaos, I would avoid Pearson Airport in Toronto, YYZ. There are still lots of staffing issues and horror stories. Especially with the U.S. pre-clearance you must do.
ON cruiser Posted September 3, 2023 #27 Share Posted September 3, 2023 I must agree with Wendy re Pearson Airport—especially if one needs wheelchair assistance, the wait for that can be quite long. Such assistance is typically provided by a 3rd party consortium in which many airlines participate. a question re Turkish Airlines: are spirits (wine, liquor) served on board and in it’s lounges? Their website makes no mention of such being available, so I ask.
newlondon Posted September 3, 2023 #28 Share Posted September 3, 2023 Absolutely on board. I don't remember about the lounge in Istanbul
TheShag Posted September 4, 2023 #29 Share Posted September 4, 2023 I have done my research on ITA lounge for Turkish Airlines. There are trolleys scattered throughout the lounge with full range of spirits. Salut!
Rare forgap Posted September 5, 2023 #30 Share Posted September 5, 2023 Lots of spirits in the TA lounge in Istanbul as well as an amazing coffee bar and dessert bar. I tried more Turkish food and drink specialties in the lounge than in my five days in Istanbul. There is also liqueur on board the flights but it is definitely not pushed. Service is a throw back to a previous, more elegant era of flying. I even found the flight attendant uniforms to be retro.
