kjg46 Posted August 26, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2023 Can someone advise me about the availability of Uber vs a taxi on getting to the cruise port? Thanks
TheOldBear Posted August 26, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2023 We've used uber a couple of times - had to switch the payment method from Discover to Visa to get it to work [both cards were alerted to travel dates, I guess Discover was just not acceptable]. I now get 'uber eats' mailings for deals near Southampton - most unlikely I would ever respond to them 🙂
SomewhereGirl Posted August 26, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2023 Last year when I checked in at the Moxy hotel, I asked for a taxi to be reserved for the next morning to take me to port. The next morning I went down to the front desk and asked if they could cancel the taxi and I would just try Uber. The front desk agent suggested I try the Uber app to see if it could even find a driver to take me to the port. After a couple of minutes of trying with no luck, I stayed with the reserved taxi. It cost around 6£ to Ocean Cruise Terminal.
Meander Ingwa Posted August 26, 2023 #4 Share Posted August 26, 2023 You may wish to add the Bolt app to increase your ride hailing choices, particularly at busy times. Good in many England and European cities
