Sunset whale watch in Icy Strait Point

We booked a whale watching tour with HAL mid September. Our ship arrives early evening, so we decided this would be a nice tour.

I was looking at sunset time, and it is about 7:00. Our tour starts at 6:30. Should we cancel the trip? It seems like we wouldn’t be able to see too much that late in the day, especially if it is cloudy or rainy.

You should still have about 90 minutes of light remaining.  And, if your tour starts at 6:30 with a 7 PM sunset, you will be starting your tour during the evening Golden Hour (best time for photography).

 

I would still take the tour.
