Epic Mediterranean which side for more sun on large balcony vs which side to see port when docked

Hi everybody, this is our first time doing a Mediterranean cruise and it’s a last minute cruise. I’m looking at a large balcony, but I’m also looking at which side would give us more sun versus if we were in port which side would we need starboard or port?

A,lso it is going east to Venice so to be in port and sit on the balcony we think we need to be Pprt side?
