Do you tip for room service and/or porters that take your luggage?

We have never tipped in advance but to make contributions to the crew fund. It’s been our experience that learning about the crew, their backgrounds, family and experiences and provides them with psychological if not financial rewards. I always try to learn at least some words in the languages of the crew we interact with most often (and then can be polite in about 15 different languages0. We’ve never done it in the past but I think the idea of bringing things on board and places with the crew don’t have the opportunity to get off his wonderful idea and intend to incorporated into our routine. Thanks for the idea, whoever first posted it.
