Oceania excursion Katakolon

Has anyone been on the Oceania excursion from Katakolon to Olympia ? Specifically, I am wondering does it go directly to the sight or are there stops at sales sites, which I prefer to avoid

We have done it on O. Can’t say I recall hitting a bunch of shopping stops. Enjoyed the visit to Olympia and the tour.

Almost all tours to Olympia are the same. (I've done it on several different lines and I imagine O is no different.)

 

You go to the site first. Or if you are doing a tour that includes the site and the museum, you may do the museum first.

 

After you visit the site, you will likely have free time to walk around. There is an entire street of souvenir tat and "Greek" tavernas but you can just spend your time strolling around the monuments longer or sitting in the very pleasant park.

If you are comfortable going it on your own — we spilt a taxi with another couple and went to the site with a guidebook and had a fantastic time. We found a taxi at the port. Simple and inexpensive!
