Do MSC charge 10% for drinks when in Spain on drinks package yet?

I read that NCL now add 10% charge to any drink ordered whilst in Spain due to Spanish government's new money grabbing tactical, has MSC started charging this yet?

Not convinced this is new.

 

Spanish tax on cruise ships  goes back to at least 2010.

 

NCL have had inconstant charging/alcohol policies for years not just Spain Italy as well, this year they even stopped serving in some uk ports on some trips.

Thank you! I had just seen a new article (https://www.euronews.com/travel/2023/09/22/spanish-cruise-holiday-warning-as-guests-told-all-inclusive-drinks-will-be-taxed) that made it seem like it was a new thing for Spain, rather than a new NCL policy

Have just been with World Europa in Barcelona. No exstra tax.

Carnival does this in port on day 1 of their US sailings. They are the only line I know charging tax in US ports.

It depends on the ports/state.  They have to do it in Texas and NY.  EM
