Different Boarding Groups

I'm traveling with a party of 7 with three staterooms, including my parents and my older children and checked us all in at the same time but two rooms got A01 Boarding Group and one got A02.  Does that mean we can't board together?

No.  You board when your Zone is called.  But you can wait and go with A02 since they are so close together.  

They may even be called at the same time

Depends on the port. Some will let all of you go together and some adhere to the boarding group numbers. A01 and A02 should only be minutes apart so not a big inconvenience.

As said before, even if A02 isn't allowed to board with A01, A01 can always wait and board when A02 is called. I hope you enjoy your cruise!

Sometimes they call them in groups, like A01-A03 but if not it isn't that long between them.

When they call A01 wait until it looks like everyone with that groups has finished getting in line and then get your A01/A02 group at the end of the line.  Chances are they'll call A02 right before or right after you get in line.

On my last cruise, they were calling several groups at a time, i.e. groups 1-5 to board

If you wait about 5 minutes.  You can all board together

On my last cruise, they were calling up a couple groups at a time, such as, "Groups A01 and A02 can board now".
