crickette Posted October 11, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2023 I'm reading more and more that onboard communication is a problem. Have the most senior positions been identified and introduced? I'm thinking Captain, Vice Captain, Chief Engineer, Hotel Director (includes food & beverage), Doctor, and ..... (cruise director, but there isn't one). When communications are failing, it is helpful to understand the organizational structure, beginning at the senior levels. Explora also needs to indicate where the horizontal reporting to Geneva fits in this organizational structure. We are OC cruisers, and also endorse the phenonmenal crew and staff seen on Serenity and Symphony (and previously, Harmony). We've sailed Regent, Seabourn and SS too. I've always said that a happy, well informed crew is a reflection of good management.
ajouni Posted October 11, 2023 #2 Share Posted October 11, 2023 Are you currently sailing on Explora so your speaking from your own experience?

The opp is clearly stating “I’m reading more and more…”, so I don’t understand your question. Onboard communication issues have indeed been reported by multiple people live from the ship on here, as recently as today.
crickette Posted October 11, 2023 Author #4 Share Posted October 11, 2023 Not currently onboard but will be in a couple of months. As stated, it is what we are reading on this thread and our experience on other lines. We apologize for the miss communication. 1
