irie0518 Posted October 15, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2023 We are on the transatlantic sailing from Lisbon to NYC in November. We don't leave Lisbon until later in the evening. We are wondering if we can drop our luggage with out checking in until later. Or can we complete the whole check in process and still leave the ship and come back on closer to sailing? TIA. complawyer Posted October 15, 2023 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2023 you can leave your luggage with the porters at the pier, then go on and do whatever you wish. as long as you are back to check in 2 hrs prior to embarkation time.
itsnotjustme Posted October 15, 2023 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2023 On another line I have completed check-in, boarded the ship, and gotten back off to do things returning 2 hours before sailing. If you do this in the US, be sure to bring your passport with you off the ship! I did but my son did not - it was looking like I was going to have to board to retrieve his passport to get him back on, but then they let us slide. Rare ColdCruise Posted October 15, 2023 #4 Share Posted October 15, 2023 Was wondering the same myself @irie0518, but was thinking the situation was like @complawyer stated.
CruiseMH Posted October 15, 2023 #5 Share Posted October 15, 2023 I think you can make the checkin, get rid of the luggage and then do whatever you want. I don`t think that it is mandatory to board the ship right after checkin.
FrostyJoe Posted October 15, 2023 #6 Share Posted October 15, 2023 What about boarding and coming back out for a while. Is that allowed?
