BVILady Posted October 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2023 I am considering booking a Cunard Cruise but have some questions concerning passengers not from the UK, Read something about required insurance and will need some clarification. The website always transfers me to the UK-site. Thanks in Advance. Also any other information which will be helpful for non-UK-passengers will be appreciated. Rare NE John Posted October 19, 2023 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2023 Here’s the link. Click the American flag to be taken to the US site, if one pops up. https://www.cunard.com/en-us
Rare NE John Posted October 19, 2023 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2023 I found nothing to worry about booking on Cunard as a non-UK passenger. Call them and ask if they have “call only” promos available. Doesn’t hurt to ask.

Click the American flag to be taken to the US site, if one pops up. https://www.cunard.com/en-us Unfortunately the functionality with the different flags to select either the Cunard US or the Cunard UK website only works for those of us in the US or Canada when we attempt to go to the Cunard UK website at "www.cunard.com/en-gb". From the US or Canada, we have the choice to view either the Cunard US or the Cunard UK website. Here's the flag display allowing that choice for those who haven't seen it. Unless there are some exceptions I don't know about, everyone else is restricted to one specific Cunard website based on their location. For example, when residents of the UK attempt to go to "www.cunard.com/en-us", they are automatically switched to "www.cunard.con/en-gb". That's similar to what happens if we in the US or Canada attempt to go to the Cunard Australia website at "www.cunard.com/en-au". We are automatically switched to "www.cunard.com/en-us". No flags are presented to let us choose between the Cunard US and Cunard Australia websites. 58 minutes ago, BVILady said: I am considering booking a Cunard Cruise but have some questions concerning passengers not from the UK, Read something about required insurance and will need some clarification. The telephone number for Cunard US Customer Support is (800) 728-6273. But that probably won't help you much since I don't believe you can call an "800" number from outside the US. There is a phone number for the Cunard office in Valencia, California but I hesitate to post that number since I don't know if it is appropriate to call that number for general customer service enquiries, especially from outside the US. Sorry I can't be more help with this. 1
BVILady Posted October 20, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted October 20, 2023 Thank you for the information. It does not let me go to the US-site automatically will have me end up on the GB site. I do reside in the Caribbean and we usually do end up on the US-sites of all cruise-lines. If they make it so complicated I just might forget about it, even the itinerary was very attractive. rhiannon84 Posted October 20, 2023 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2023 If you are in the British Virgin Islands (as I assume from your name) then that could explain your redirection to the UK site. As BVI is an Overseas British Territory you would possibly need to check which Ts & Cs apply regardless. I think customers from Gibraltar would be in a similar-ish position. You might have to send a speculative email and hope they reply with a phone number to discuss - https://www.cunard.com/en-gb/contact-us#emailus
Rare NE John Posted October 20, 2023 #7 Share Posted October 20, 2023 To add to confusion, the BVI uses the US$ as official currency while flying under the Union Jack. Good luck!! You may want to work with a travel agent.

But really, where does someone go on vacation/holiday when you already live in the BVI?!? I guess too much paradise is too much.

Might I suggest you contact a US-based travel agent via a non-800 number rather than forego a voyage.
BVILady Posted October 22, 2023 Author #12 Share Posted October 22, 2023 Thank you for all the information. I have booked it through a US-Cruise specialist. I was just going to make sure to have all the information from the cruise-line considering not residing in the UK itself, to not end up with an unpleasant surprise. Ended up with a LOT cheaper fare then Cunard had quoted me direct. The Agent was able to book me into an actual single-cabin. It is always a struggle to book single-cabins.
