CruisingAlong4Now Posted October 24, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2023 I'm looking at the 14-Day Lands of the Celts cruise around Great Britain. Boarding (at Greenwich) and all the ports say "TENDER BY ZODIAC". I'm surprised to find a Great Britain cruise is an Expedition voyage. Am I reading this correctly? cruiseej Posted October 25, 2023 #2 Share Posted October 25, 2023 It's labeled as an expedition cruise, and the ports are almost all small ports. So yes, I'd say you're reading it right! 😀 With two expedition ships, they are clearly aiming to offer some viable expedition itineraries between the prime-time Arctic and Antarctic seasons. Rare Vineyard View Posted October 25, 2023 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2023 We looked at that itinerary as well. For us, the prime time pricing for the specific ports they are traveling to did not pencil out for our interests in that region of the world. We are looking to possibly travel to the British Isles in 2025, but this one didn’t check enough boxes m The next person may say, wow, it checks so many boxes for us! adoctor Posted October 25, 2023 #4 Share Posted October 25, 2023 On the maiden voyage of the Pursuit back in August (in the Mediterranean) tendering was undertaken by the normal style vessel despite it being billed as "by Zodiac". I think where the landing site is a dock or quayside this will be the likely method. If the landing is on a beach or estuary then wet weather clothing will be the dress code. CruisingAlong4Now Posted October 25, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted October 25, 2023 (edited) Thanks for the replies. Sadly, this cruise is not for me. I am not looking for an expedition. I'm looking for a cruise. I associate "expedition" with less traveled and less "first world" experiences. I was just looking for an easy cruise that circumnavigated the Isles.
