KeepCalmBearOn Posted October 28, 2023 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2023 The only thing to see really is the USS Iowa, or Uber over to Downtown Long Beach. For dinner, I like the Green Onion, Raffaello Ristorante and San Pedro Brewing Co. 22nd Street Landing too, but I'd Uber there.

We love walking around San Pedro, a lot of vintage and antiques shops for browsing, always felt safe walking the area. Casual dining, as indicated above, San Pedro Brewing Company is a block away from your hotel, trypical bar/pub fare. Excellent italian food at Raffaelo. For breakfast, around the corner from the Crowne Plaza is the Happy Diner, family owned, friendly service, hole in the wall with really good food, suggest getting there earlier than later to avoid the lines. Bruin Steve Posted October 29, 2023 #4 Share Posted October 29, 2023 (edited) Our usual plan if getting there in the morning is to have lunch at the Green Onion, Dinner at the San Pedro Brewing Co. (or vice versa). Both are within less than a block from the Crowne Plaza. In between, you could walk over to the USS Iowa (within a couple of blocks. If you really wanted a bigger attraction, it's about six to seven miles to Downtown Long Beach--and the Queen Mary and Aquarium of the Pacific. For that, take an Uber or Lyft. For us, we'd just hang in Pedro and relax. Menu (greenonionmexicanrestaurant.com) Dining Menu - American Cuisine Restaurant - San Pedro Brewing Co. Or Scott's Italian choice (about two short blocks from Crowne Plaza): Menu - Raffaello Ristorante - Italian Restaurant in San Pedro, CA 22nd Street Landing is Seafood...within a couple of miles--down on the marina near the Doubletree Hotel: Dinner Menu — 22nd St. Landing Seafood Grill & Bar (22ndstlandingrestaurant.com) If you head over to Long Beach, there are a number of restaurants near the Aquarium--along the waterfront, in the Pike center, in Shoreline Village and heading up Pine Avenue. Rare travelin.sisters Posted October 30, 2023 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2023 options of things to see/do in San Pedro will vary depending on what day you are here...there is a nice little aquarium at Cabrillo Beach (not fancy like the one in Long Beach but also not expensive), the Iowa is well worth seeing & I enjoy walking from there along the waterfront promenade. The restaurants that have been mentioned are good choices if you want to go further there are other options but definitely some nice choices within walking distance...if you will be here on Friday or the weekend there are some other options for things to do

I'd love to hear how your stay is at the Crown Plaza, we're there in February and I read such mixed reviews. Thank you and have a great cruise! Thank you and have a great cruise! The Crowne Plaza is just fine for a stay of less than 24 hours. I probably wouldn't spend three nights there for a variety of reasons, but overnight before a cruise it is fine.
Rare Jetswdo Posted November 12, 2023 #9 Share Posted November 12, 2023 We are also staying one night before Celebrity cruise, this Thursday. Hotel is good enough and convenient for port--- We stayed here years ago, and it was fine. If we were going to stay longer we would have probably stayed at Doubletree----which is in a prettier area----
