Future cruise credit expiration

If I have an FCC from Covid isolation on my last cruise and it is good for a year, do I have to sail within the year or just book within a year?

I'm pretty sure you just have to book within the year...but hopefully someone will confirm.

We cancelled this past August for our September 2023 cruise and received FCC.  The date noted on our FCC certificate is “Sail by December 31, 2024”.  My understanding is that you must SAIL by the end of the following year.
