currency in the casino

Hi all, I just wanted to check if the currency used in the casinos on board P&O ships is still pounds, rather than US dollars? Do the fruit machines take coins, or just notes... or is it all cashless and done via cruise card? Any help really appreciated! TIA

It’s sterling. Machines don’t take currency. You have to set up an account using your cruise card to play the slots. No idea about table games.

For table games it is exchange sterling cash for chips or buy them via your cruise card and the cost is added to your onboard account. Don't forget to change your chips for cash at the end of the cruise.

 

Onboard credit cannot be used in the casino.

Casino always has a lot of cash used rather than charged to an account I noticed. .
