Red Sea commercial ship seized by Houtis

India-bound cargo ship seized by Houthis in Red Sea,  claim they will disrupt ships with any ties to Israel.

Wonder if this will impact general shipping and  future cruising through the Suez canal? Hope no cruises going that way soon!

We're currently on the Regent Navigator and will be going through the Suez Canal on Wednesday. Had our security drill this morning. Am 100% sure the Captain and crew are aware, although it hasn't been mentioned. Pretty much guaranteed the US  Navy ships that are currently in the Red Sea will be very close.

Very interested to hear updates on your voyage! Going to be on an oceania ship going through the suez canal and then through red sea and would love to have confirmation of us navy ships protecting you.

Silversea just cancelled our 1/6 trip from Aquba

How did you get notified of the cancellation of the 1/6 Silversea trip out od Aqaba?  I think we are on the same cruise and haven't been notified of a cancellation.  The cruise still shows up for sale on their website.

Right it’s still on the site but someone posted the news yesterday so I wrote our TA who then called SS and heard.  Great way to run a railroad.   SS has offered some options that dont look great .   Our TA says SS is still working on details whatever that means.
