FLcruiser2011 Posted December 1, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2023 My physical therapist has recommended that I work out each day on a stationary bike as part of my recovery from knee surgery. Does anyone know if they have these on the Queen Victoria? A photo would be appreciated if you have one. Thanks in advance.
ClaireRuss Posted December 2, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2023 I was on QV in November and went to the gym most days. If memory serves me correctly there was one recumbent at the far end of the treadmills. Also several upright exercise bike too. Sorry I don't have any pics. bluemarble Posted December 2, 2023 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2023 There are photos of the QV fitness center found here in the Reviews section of this site. Here's a link to one of the photos there which may show a few machines which qualify as recumbent stationary bikes. You can scroll through other photos of the fitness center to see other views which might be helpful as well. One caveat is that I don't know how recent these photos are. https://www.cruisecritic.com/cruise/cunard/queen-victoria/fitness-center-371638/fitness-center--v16925914

Had I known I would have taken a few new photos 🙂
Rare D&N Posted December 2, 2023 #5 Share Posted December 2, 2023 From YouTube videos. Most recently from a cruise during the 2023 English October half term there are two recumbent cycles shown to port side of the run of treadmills facing the bow. A few months earlier there were two cross trainers in that space and three recumbents behind the run of treadmills. Recumbent cycles are a fairly standard piece of Technogym kit, I'd be surprised if they ever removed them completely.
tv24 Posted December 5, 2023 #6 Share Posted December 5, 2023 I use the recumbent bikes on all ships and have used them on the Victoria. I remember 2 bikes, and I doubt if they have been removed. But sometimes one is broken.
Weloveitaly Posted December 28, 2023 #7 Share Posted December 28, 2023 I was just on the Queen Victoria (Dec 11-23) and they had four recumbent bikes; two to the left of the treadmills and two to the right of the ellipticals. I was the only one using them when I went (typically right when the gym opened, at 6am, but a few times in the afternoon as well). There were also 4 upright bikes.
Rare Pushpit Posted December 28, 2023 #8 Share Posted December 28, 2023 It's TechnoGym on the QE and QM2 too, so I'm guessing Cunard have some contract with them. The ones with a back panel are these: https://www.technogym.com/en-GB/product/excite-live-recline_DFDU-SLS.html QM2 photo: and the ones without a back panel are: https://www.technogym.com/en-GB/product/excite-live-bike_DFCU-SLS.html
Rare D&N Posted December 28, 2023 #9 Share Posted December 28, 2023 Going by those photos and recent QM2 videos from YouTube the TechnoGym kit has been upgraded since we were aboard in June 2022. I doubt the actual machines are different but the LCD panels are newer. Our gym still has the older models, which are quite reliable. I note the spec linked to above shows wireless device charging, which may be useful to folk.
