EllieinNJ Posted December 8, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2023 I have an AMEX offer that has to be used before 12/29/23. If I use this offer for a cruise for next December and have to cancel before final payment, will the money be returned to my credit card? I know AMEX will re-add the discount taken off. Rare Liljo22 Posted December 8, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 8, 2023 Yes. Deposits are 100% refundable before final payment.
European_CruiseGirl Posted December 8, 2023 #3 Share Posted December 8, 2023 (edited) In US (and Canada?) - yes. In EU/UK (and Australia?) - no. So depends on through which NCL office/travel agent (location) you have booked. Edited December 8, 2023 by European_CruiseGirl

I have the same offer. Since I book through CAS and had a $500 Cruisefirst cert, even with the admin fee, upgrade, and prepaid DSC, I didn't have a $1000 sale even when paid in full. So I booked excursions to get over the threshold. Since my cruise isn't until August, I ordinarily wouldn't have booked those so far in advance. I don't expect to cancel but I did this with the understanding that I COULD, if something unexpected arose. Of course, I also have trip insurance 🙂 Edited December 8, 2023 by phillygwm 2
complawyer Posted December 8, 2023 #5 Share Posted December 8, 2023 ncl will return whatever amount you have paid to date, as long as you cancel before prior payment is due. In the past, I've canceled, rebooked, changed cabins, changed people in the cabin, removed names of people traveling if they flaked on me. As long as it's before final payment date, there are no cancelation penalties. The only drawback is final payment MUST be paid 120 days before sailing. Unfortunately, a lot can happen in 120 days
