Iamcruzin Posted December 24, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 24, 2023 This is the first time I will be traveling since I became diabetic. My wife also uses a pen for weight loss. Are the coolers and I say cooler because they aren't cold enough to be called a refrigerator cool enough to store these drugs?
med02 Posted December 24, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 24, 2023 My husband started on Ozempic last August two weeks before we went on a 19 day cruise on Princess. He is a diabetic. We were concerned about the cabin coolers also and keeping the Ozempic cool on a 3 hour flight, but our doctor and pharmacist said it did not have to be in a refrigerator. Apparently recommended but not crucial? Anyway, we kept it in the cabin cooler and kept it near our filled ice bucket. Seemed to have been okay as the Ozempic continues to lower his blood sugar to really great levels now. Hope this answers your question.

We are going on an 11 day cruise and we live close to port so we don't have to worry about the flight. I take my shots on Sunday so I will be traveling with 2 pens. Wheeling TravelingMom Posted December 24, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 24, 2023 (edited) Med02 is correct. Ozempic/Wegovy do not need to be refrigerated as long as it doesn't get hotter than 86 degrees. As soon as it hits room temperature you have 56 days to use it. Rare Crashe Posted December 24, 2023 #6 Share Posted December 24, 2023 Never had a problem, an unfortunate long time diabetic…. I would still just keep it in fridge.

avonlady6390 Posted December 24, 2023 #8 Share Posted December 24, 2023 I would take an extra pen just in case there is a delay on getting home on schedule.
