Niavlys Ruofud Posted January 12 #1 Share Posted January 12 Hi everyone, am mostly a red wine drinker and was wondering if the classic package has good red wine (anybody has the list for Celebrity Solstice?) or should I upgrade to Premium? Thanks in advance. Cheers 🍷🍷
jelayne Posted January 12 #2 Share Posted January 12 Celebrity recently reduced the wines covered in both the Classic and Premium, package, pricing some of the most popular reds outside of the Premium package. Wines like Decoy, Red Condundrum, Cherry Pie, Cherry Tart are now $19, $2 over the package. In the app select a current Ascent sailing, then under dining you can see wine lists for the restaurants and bars. I suggest the Ascent as Celebrity has said they will be adding some new wines to the offering starting with the Ascent.
kayehall Posted January 12 #3 Share Posted January 12 This is the first time we have ever upgraded to the premium package. I guess it is a good thing, given the price increases.

AlbertaCruisers Posted January 12 #5 Share Posted January 12 (edited) As a note, we are red wine drinkers and we have for a long time struggled to find anything we can drink on even the premium drink package and instead have been buying bottles, which feels like a waste when you pay for the premium drink package already, but we really enjoy good wine with dinner. We don't like Decoy or Conundrum (both of which are now $2 over the premium drink package price). I saw somewhere on a Celebrity drink menu the Freemark Abbey, which we like at $25 a glass. With paying the difference over the $17 premium limit it may be better than buying a bottle, if it is available anywhere by the glass. The Freemark Abbey is $110 a bottle and with the premium drink package we were getting a 20% discount, which equates to the 20% tips, so we paid $110 a bottle. There were some decent bottles they brought for us to try in the $80 to $90 range.

There is an extensive wine list (glass and bottle) in the app. I found it under Main Dining Cosmopolitan restaurant on our upcoming Ascent sailing.
cbfb Posted January 12 #9 Share Posted January 12 Don’t forget with either package you can bring one bottle per person on board without paying a corkage fee. We do this even with the premium package as we struggle to find a good wine. IMO this has always been a miss for celebrity.
Niavlys Ruofud Posted January 12 Author #10 Share Posted January 12 Thank you, I'll be in Hong Kong the week before, so not sure what kind of wine I'll be able to get there. Cheers🍷🍷
