ted burke Posted January 23 #1 Share Posted January 23 New to this. Which cruise lines do week long cruises to Adriatic (perhaps Venice around to southern Croatia coast? Around 700-1300 passengers. May through September. Many thanks, Ted
Rare Essiesmom Posted January 23 #2 Share Posted January 23 Go to cruisetimetables.com and choose ports you wish to visit from the Cruises to…tab. Then select the time you wish to cruise. It will show you who is calling there and their itineraries. If you find ships listed that you are not familiar with, try cruisedeckplans.com and choose that cruise line. Initially it will show you all the ships of that line, size and age. EM
Rare Hlitner Posted January 23 #3 Share Posted January 23 I think you need to understand that when you talk about 700-1200 passenger ships, that is generally going to be in the so-called "Premium" or "Luxury" category. Small to medium size vessels generally come at a higher price, but also will usually give you higher overall quality. Since most of the luxury lines focus on longer itineraries that is also a problem with your criteria. You could look to a luxury line such as Ponent, which has a 7 day Adriatic cruise in June. Ritz-Carlton (a very high end expensive line) also offers some interesting cruises in the Adriatic such as their 7 day cruise (June) on the Evrima. If you are looking for value, then forget about the smaller ships and look to a line like MSC which has many 7 day itineraries in those waters. While MSC will give you a very large mass market ship, on their vessels that have the ship within a ship "Yacht Club" you can find a small ship atmosphere (within the Yacht Club environment) on a mega ship. YourWorldWithBill Posted January 23 #4 Share Posted January 23 Most cruise lines have cruises in that area, so the advice already posted here covers a lot. Just a note to support and add to what others have said: We did a 7 day Viking cruise (930 passengers), considered a luxury line, in the Adriatic, and were happy with that. If you are willing to consider a slightly larger (and less expensive ship), premium lines such as Holland America (2,000 - 2,500 passengers), Princess, Celebrity etc. would be good choices. Most have seven day cruises. We are fans of Holland America.
