scomar Posted January 28 #1 Share Posted January 28 Hello, Has anyone seen the Amazon Prime series "The Cruise"? The show follows the daily happenings of the Scarlet Lady by following a few select passengers. If you did and have been on the ship, did they do a good job showing the real side of things? This will be our first sailing on the Scarlet Lady and it gave us a good preview of what to expect, at least I hope it did.

I think it gave a pretty decent preview of what to expect. I've been on Scarlet three times now. Twice on a B2B right after sailing began and then just back in December.
jon81uk Posted January 28 #4 Share Posted January 28 It originally aired on Channel 5 in the UK two years ago. Some of the false drama and reliance on a cliffhanger before the ad break gets old quickly. I don’t think it always shows the line at its best.

Definitely the cliffhanger drama was a laugh. Working in a casino I do understand the drama that a "highroller" can come up with if things in their hotel room are the least little bit off. Imagine getting upset because the end of the toilet paper wasn't folded in a perfect triangle.
Rare CineGraphic Posted January 28 #6 Share Posted January 28 There's a 2nd season that's only partially aired. It was filmed on the Valiant in the med, and only after a few episodes it disappeared. We have friends who were sailing as Rock Stars at the time, and they did quite a bit of filming with them. I hope they end up airing the complete 2nd season at some point. scomar Posted January 29 Author #7 Share Posted January 29 I guess it wouldn't be much of a TV show without some dramatic cliffhangers 🙂. I hope it come back for a second season as well, sounds like it started, we shall see. Thanks to all for you replies.
Rare cantgetin Posted January 29 #8 Share Posted January 29 I'm only thru the first episode. What on earth is going on with someone trashing the marble in the bathroom in a suite? Really?

Sounds like someone was actually trying to live the life of a "Rock Star"😉 Smash up rooms, that is what they do.🤩
shubsens Posted January 30 #10 Share Posted January 30 Hopefully we get the show soon in Canada Prime.

What on earth is going on with someone trashing the marble in the bathroom in a suite? Really? It gets worse lol I mean its all fake drama. The ship was still all shiny and new, and i imagine it was a "settling" problem for the tile, but it was swapped out and sailors would never have known. I would not be to shocked if the second season was canned either due to rating or at VV request lol In a show on Netflix about (of all things) mermaids, VV is featured a lot in the final episode to do with a competition. Much more honest as you can just see people getting along in the background and enjoying the ship.
Rare Tyler414 Posted January 30 #12 Share Posted January 30 I watched this before I got on Valiant Lady in the Med. typical TV drama... What I remember most about the show was the captain asking the engineers if they could crank up the engines to produce more electricity to get the ship moving faster to make a port on time, I thought that was interesting. Anyhoo

Rare Sherry84 Posted January 31 #14 Share Posted January 31 Just finished watching this, very interesting as I've already been on the ship to see the ins and outs of it. Also warmed me up for our upcoming voyage in a week 🙂
onechaiguy Posted January 31 #15 Share Posted January 31 I enjoyed the show. The main difference is that the ships are at MUCH higher capacity now than they were then.
