Possible to add more than 1 room to a key for Apex?

Just wondering if I can request we have access to each others room on the keys?

a card opens one door only.

On other cruise lines, they will print you an additional card if you need access to another room (of course with that person's permission), but I've never heard of multiple room access on a single key.

Each card only transmits one code to the lock. Each lock has it's own code plus the master code used by the room attendant. Your 'key' can only operate one door.

Correct, each card can only be coded for one room.  However when we travel with our teenage kids we have X issue cards for both rooms.  So you have to carry around 2 cards, which is a bit annoying, but you got access to both rooms.  The extra card was only for room access, not for bars or other possible charges.
