GordieK Posted February 3 #1 Share Posted February 3 First time we have used the slot machines and allocating ourselves a small amount of cash from our OBS we had a play. Transferred a few pounds to a few machines … thencame away thinking that was ok for a few quid. Looked at the balance on our cards on the machine and we had about £70 showing …. Does that mean that gets transferred to our account automatically or do we need to do something?
Rare TigerB Posted February 3 #2 Share Posted February 3 Funds to use in the casino do not come from your OBC, nor do the winnings go back onto your OBC. You pay with the credit card you have registered for spending, and it works like this (for the slots): - you choose to put £20 onto your cruise card to play; that £20 is charged to your credit card, - you play a few times and end up with a balance of £37, - before you disembark at the end of the cruise you need to cash out; you go the cash desk and present your cruise card. You are then given £37 in cash, - your net gain is £17 because the original £20 would have been charged to your credit card When you next check your OBC balance it will show your onboard purchases. The money you have loaded onto your cruise card for gambling, to be charged to your credit card, is shown separately. 1
Winifred 22 Posted February 3 #3 Share Posted February 3 Yes you can’t use OBC for either the casino/ bingo or paying towards any bills from Medical Centre.
GordieK Posted February 4 Author #4 Share Posted February 4 Thanks for this. I struggled to find that info anywhere on the web site.
sandancer Posted February 4 #5 Share Posted February 4 On Iona you don’t have to charge your card to play the slots. The machines take notes. Didn’t find that out until the end of the cruise.
Rare TigerB Posted February 4 #6 Share Posted February 4 @sandancer, we've been on Iona twice and didn't even notice that. Too distracted by the colourful and flashing screens, I reckon! 😉

The payout will be the same as if you had charged a credit card, the balance will remain on your cruise card; it will have to as it keeps a record of your playing and awards the bonuses. At the end you will cash out at the desk and get reddies back.
sandancer Posted February 4 #10 Share Posted February 4 Exactly. I put my measly winnings on one side to take back and hand them back to the casino. It’s just a bit of fun for us.
Rare TigerB Posted February 4 #11 Share Posted February 4 For us too! We only play Lobster mania, and will only charge £20 to each cruise card, which then attract an additional £5 of play each. If we come out with a profit then that's great, but if we don't at least we've had a bit of fun. Mind you, even if the balance on our cards is only pennies we will still cash out; better in our pockets than Carnival's. #Yorkshire 🤭
