Royal Up- Family of 4

Hey I need some help from those experienced cruise professionals on these forums!  

 

We are a family of 4, in a standard Oceanview balcony. Considering this for extra space just to throw our hat in the ring for the Junior Suite Category but I'm confused by the rules?  It states it's based on double occupancy, so if it's the 4 of us, does it know we need a suite that would sleep 4?  And does that mean it is only going to charge us for the first two passengers?

You’ll only be placed in a room

that accommodates 4 however the RoyalUp charge will only be

for 2.

Yes the terms say whatever you bid is X 2, no matter how many in the cabin. Solo is also X 2.

The system will know you you have four guests.  If a JS that accommodates four becomes available, RoyalUp could be a nice deal for your family because the first two guest are charged.  The other two just get to enjoy the space! Good luck.

In the event this actually pulls through, when have you guys seen the upgrade occur?

Typically anytime from a few weeks out to a few hours prior to boarding. I'm 3/0 on RU and mine came at one week out twice, and one day out once.

I've heard you should watch your credit card charges -- that may be your first hint that you've "won".
