We really enjoyed him on our last two cruises. Be advised that staff is changing. The Captain we had two weeks ago went on vacation. The singers and dancers for the production shows will be leaving soon and a new group coming on board. We were told that the group that was on the inaugural sailing are being replaced as their contracts are ending.
CGinMTL Posted March 10 #153 Share Posted March 10 Thinking of you Disembarkation must be even tougher with the time change
Rare catsmit Posted March 10 Author #154 Share Posted March 10 Disembarkation info - it wasn’t difficult with the time change overnight self assist was scheduled to start at 7:30 from Eden. It started at 7:20; we were off the ship by 7:30; we are sitting at FLL Gate B2 at 8:15AM. Flight is scheduled to take off at 10:10AM. Have had early flight out of FLL too many times to count. It’s very doable. Thanks for following along. If you have a sailing on Celebrity Ascent, I’m sure you will enjoy it.

We were instructed to just walk past every one in line and go to our table. Having said that, I have spoken with others onboard who said they have anytime dining even with a set reserved time. They still had to wait in line to be seated because they did not know their table assignment. On embarkation day, there was a dining room hostess desk located on deck 3 just off from Guest Services. We met with the lady who accommodated our request in the Tuscan Restaurant at an assigned table and time for the duration of the cruise. Even though we are dining in Tuscan, we can order any of the exclusive dishes being served in the other three restaurants; it doesn’t matter - appetizer or entree. You're going to be off the ship now but there is no assigned dining even though they tell you there is. You can go to any of the 4 restaurants at any time. There will no doubt be a few grumbles at first by the hogs but in no time at all folk will get the message and miraculously everyone will benefit from available sun loungers and chairs. The ideal time to start this would be around 8am when they are occupied by towels but no or few humans in sight. We were on this cruise. If you were up a little too late there was no deck chair available anywhere outside. Staff wouldn't start clearing towels (not personal belongings) until about 2pm as lazy people wouldn't take their towels with them as they leave for the day. I did see a few aggressive arguments between guests that did move stuff on their own accord, with junior attendants getting the brunt of the anger until senior staff (who looked unsure as well) and security got involved. Otherwise it was a fantastic cruise.
