Luggage in Barcelona

Recommended Posts

First of all, are you doing Princess' transfers from the airport to the ship? If so, then someone from Princess will be waiting for you at baggage claim and will direct you to the transfer bus and the vehicle for your baggage. Usually, they put your luggage right on the same bus with you for your transfer. If you don't have Princess' transfers, you will have to get your luggage to the dock on your own---usually, only those with the ship's transfers can use the luggage vehicles.

What can you do if you aren't using their transfers? You ARE responsible for your luggage and there's nowhere to store it at the airport and you can't go to the dock that early because the porters will be too busy with the disembarking passengers---plus you don't want to get your bags mixed up with the bags of those who are disembarking. But, if your plane lands at 9, you will have to go through Spanish Immigration, which can take a long time, you'll have to wait for your luggage and then go through Spanish Customs. All that could take 90 minutes depending on how many international flights come in at the same time. You could hire a taxi and the bags will go with you in that vehicle. That's about all you can do if you don't just want to sit at the ship terminal until boarding.

There is a left luggage office in terminal B.

You could leave the luggage, take the airbus or train to the city, walk the Rambla then go back to airport and taxi to ship.

You don't say what time you are sailing, if not until late in the evening you don't have to get on the ship at noon.

We are sailing at 7pm. Even though we're staying two days precruise our hotel is in the Gothic Quarter and has steps so we are planning on leaving our major luggage at the airport then heading to the ship later in the afternoon with a target arrival at the ship between 3-4.

On the other hand if your plane is late or it is close to checkin time you could taxi to ship, drop you bags with porter then see city, but you'll still have your carry-on which is probably not a good idea in the city.
