Hambagahle Posted July 2 #26 Share Posted July 2 (edited) Makes sense. We have booked it (785) for an Athens to Istanbul cruise 2025 and I hope the weather will be nice. Not too hot (will be May) but not cold either. And it is "closure" for us. We had the same suite booked on the March 14 2020 cruise that was cancelled the day before - that still hurts and I hope this booking will remove that too. We just booked a Splendor Suite (919) for the TA Miami/Lisbon in 2026...any thoughts on those? Has one of the wider balconies. Grand Suites were not available but we are W/L for one. Hope you are both fine! Edited July 2 by Hambagahle

Has one of the wider balconies. You will love it. Beautiful suite with second powder room. Greta location mid ship near elevator. The deep balcony is a big benefit although on a TA you may not use it as much as we did in the Aegean.
Hambagahle Posted July 3 #28 Share Posted July 3 Thank you! We have done many (15?) trans-Atlantic cruises and so are realistic about the weather. We deliberately chose a Starboard suite because we are going W-E and the sun is to the south! One year - we shivered! One year (a couple actually) - we fried. Beyond our control (as far as I know!) But glad to know you liked it and I am sure we will too.
Rare DaisyUK Posted July 3 #29 Share Posted July 3 We have never stayed in Splendor Suite, but had a peep into one before disembarking last month. Absolutely beautiful.
Rare GMIAC Posted July 3 #30 Share Posted July 3 We'll be in a Splendor Suite on Friday in Iceland! I splurged and upgraded our F1, so we can "preview" the same Splendor Suite we booked for the 2027 World Cruise. We've only done F1s so far.

We "tried" them out a few years ago and now cannot go back. LOL. 1

That's what I'm afraid of! We have two F1s booked, for November and next February. Must. Remain. Strong.

I'm planning on bouncing my last check. Also, I want the tears at my funeral to be real. 🤑 💸 1
shuguley Posted July 3 Author #35 Share Posted July 3 My choice of suite categories on Regent is like my wine selection. The minimum standard is getting higher and higher and more expensive with each step. 😂 Hope you all have a great Fourth of July holiday. 🇱🇷 2
Gilrond Posted August 15 #36 Share Posted August 15 I did the forward Grand suite on the Explorer in 2019 and loved it. The balcony view was outstanding - I don't mind a bit of wind. There was minimal sound from the Observation lounge but never enough to keep me awake. Am going for same thing, well opposite side, next year on the Grandeur. I can't do aft suites - it is the one place on a ship where the motion bothers me.

We were in a GS on Grandeur last month, suite 1012. We did a Splendor cruise in 1201 a couple years ago and had a fair amount of vibration during the nights. Last year we did a TA on Splendor and moved to 1012, a GS. The balcony for 1012 on Grandeur was terrific.
Hambagahle Posted August 15 #38 Share Posted August 15 We have had forward large suites on Oceania - loved them BUT would only book one if the cruise was port-intensive. Lighting outside is limited if it can interfere with the views from the Bridge. Have had an aft suite (small one - Seven Seas) on Regent and really loved that. It was a trans-Atlantic too. Next cruise is on Splendor in the aft Grand suite and that is Greece and Turkey so not overly worried about the motion (can happen and I have experienced that once...). We have cancelled the Trans-Atlantic in the Splendor suite and booked another Mediterranean cruise instead.
